Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC) won the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz on Monday (30 October).
Legon PRESEC won the competition with 40 points, followed by Achimota School with 28 points and Opoku Ware School with 23 points.
For the eighth time, the school has won the competition.
This makes PRESEC the most successful school in the National Science and Maths Quiz competition’s history.
Only 11 schools have won the NSMQ trophy since its debut in 1993/94, making it one of Ghana’s most prestigious and difficult championships to obtain.
OWASS and MOTOWN had wanted to win their third race in the competition’s history.
But hope and luck deserted them; Achimota School, the only co-educational school to have won the title, was unable to do it for the third time.
They have won the competition twice, in 1998 and in 2004.
