The National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership has directed constituency executives in the Volta Region to have complete control of their districts ahead of the 2024 general elections.
“As we develop our strategy here, let us keep in mind what we can do to counter if the NPP plans to share resources, particularly money, before and on election day,” NDC MP for Ketu North James Avedzi said at the party’s regional seminar.
Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, general secretary of the NDC, stated, “Somehow, the NPP makes it look as if it is wrong for us Volta people to take the NDC as a religion, but there is nothing wrong with it.”
Speaking on behalf of Volta MPs, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzra, MP for Ho West, urged party executives to prioritize mutual respect for and between regional and national leaderships, with a focus on how to unite against the NPP and win the election.
James Gunu, the party’s regional secretary, also stated that the 2020 election “taught us lessons” and that they need “new strategies” for 2024.
