Former New Patriotic Party Western regional secretary Mr. Charles Bissue has stated that President Akufo -Addo will reshuffle his Ministers when he deems fit.
“Let me use myself as an example…I am an expert in galamsey…when I was the presidential staffer …the book I wrote that’s what the Lands ministry is currently using…… there’s no doubt about… the roadmap …I did everything the community mining, exportation of gold.
“Yet I still had people from the Western region who come the Jubilee House… saying I leak confidential information from the Jubilee House…so they rooted for me to be out of office…but I was meeting my KPIs,” he said.
According to Mr. Bissue, Akufo- Addo heed to the advice of experts, however, the President is aware of the performance indicators of the Ministers and believes these ministers are meeting the expectations of the president.
He added the state of the economy is not as a result of the incompetence of the ministers rather due to external factors.
Reacting to criticisms that his ministers are incompetent and needs reshuffling, President Nana Akufo-Addo has said he has no intention to reshuffle his ministers any time soon.
In an interview with North Star radio in Tamale, the President said his appointees were meeting his expectations.
While President Akufo-Addo said he evaluates the work of his ministers consistently, he feels “many of them for me have done outstanding work. Their output has been considerable, and that is what I look at.”
“If the output measures expectations, then I don’t have any strong reasons to heed the call,” President Akufo-Addo added.
The President also believes calls for a reshuffle sometimes have ulterior motives.
“The calls come for all kinds of reasons; NDC wanting to destabilise the government is one. There are people who are also looking for jobs.”
President Akufo-Addo’s only ministerial reshuffle was during his first term, in August 2018.
Since then, he made some changes to his ministers and dropped some portfolios after criticism that his government was bloated.
