After their school bus crashed into a ditch on Tuesday, at least 14 students from the Great Faith Rockery School in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, were taken by ambulance to the hospital.
While the other students on the bus receive care at the Asokwa Children’s Hospital, four of the students are being monitored at a private hospital in Ahodwo.
The Ahodwo-Asokwa stretch was gridlocked as a result of the accident, Eyewitnesses claim that the driver lost control of the steering wheel, veered off the road, and fell into a ditch.
Doctors say the children’s conditions are stable.
Dr. Fred Fongang of the Asokwa Children’s Hospital told the media that the children are pretty stable.
“Four of them have minor injuries and a few of them will take X-rays. But majority of them are stable and will be going home and will come back for review.
“The kids are out of danger per the examinations that we have done. So, the parents should be calm,” he added.
