Police Sergeant Owusu Asante Baafi, 35, his wife, and their four-month-old child were all killed in a house fire late on Sunday, January 15 in Apromase, Ejisu Municipality, Ashanti Region.
Sergeant Baafi, a member of the police force in the Ashanti Region’s anti-robbery unit, was caught in the fire that destroyed their apartment and instantly killed him and his family.
Eyewitnesses told OilCity Radio that about five houses were destroyed in Sunday’s fire incident at the police quarters where the deceased was residing with his family.

It has not yet been determined what started the fire.
George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), is en route to the scene to assess the situation and console the families of the deceased.
