The High Court in Kumasi on November 13 will begin the complete trial of Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, a police officer accused of killing his girlfriend, Victoria Dapaah, in Adum in April of this year.
The court began an in-camera case management meeting on Monday (23 October) and is likely to call its first prosecution witness at the next sitting.
Twumasi, who is accused of murdering Dapaah aka Maadwoa, has pleaded not guilty.
The court will also convene on November 14 in what state prosecutors characterise as efforts to expedite the trial in the interest of justice.
The prosecution had previously stated its willingness to establish beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused individual killed the late Dapaah by shooting her many times at close range on April 20, this year.
According to an autopsy report provided by the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), the deceased’s body had six bullet entry wounds and seven exit wounds.
The deceased died of hemorrhagic shock as a result of several gunshot wounds. The way of death was classified as “unnatural” by pathologists.
