Some aggrieved Assembly members of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality has stated that they do not recognize Honourable Benjamin Kesse as the MCE for the area.
They stated that the processes leading to his confirmation as MCE were illegal and, therefore they cannot be seen to be supporting such an illegality.
In an interview with Peace FM News today, one of the assembly members, Honourable Paa Kwasi said ” we as elected assembly members do not recognize Benjamin Kesse as MCE for Tarkwa- Nsuaem. The so- called confirmation of his nomination was not done in accordance with the required laws, and therefore we cannot be part of such an illegality”.
The aggrieved assemblymen revealed that they have since filed a suit at the High court challenging his confirmation, and were hopeful their pleas would be granted by the court.
It could be recalled that the confirmation of Honourable Benjamin Kesse happened last week at the University of Mines and Technology(UMAT) campus at Tarkwa, despite agitations by some assembly members challenging the propriety of the event.
