President Akufo-Addo has granted the Deputy Director- General of the Ghana Education Service, Mr. Anthony Boateng a one-year extension of service, effective August 17, 2022 to August 16, 2023.
The request for the post retirement extension service of Mr. Boateng was made by the Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
In a letter dated August 19, 2022, Dr. Adutwum, requested for a one-year requirement for Mr. Boateng in reference to the general principle and policy on post retirement contract in Ghana.
“Referencing the general principle and public policy on post retirement contracts in Ghana; I should be grateful to respectfully request for another one-year extension of contract for Mr. Anthony Boateng current Deputy Director- General, current Deputy Director-General, for Management Service, Ghana Education Service,” the letter said.
In a statement signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante, the secretary to the President, during the period of the extension Mr. Boateng is expected to “continue in your current role and assist in the development of the National Education institute as approved by the Cabinet.”
