The confirmation of Benjamin Kesse, the President’s nominee as the new Municipal Chief Executive for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality is expected to take place today at the University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) campus at Tarkwa.
This follows the termination of the appointment of Gilbert Kennedy Asmah as Municipal Chief Executive for the area last week.
Mr. Benjamin Kesse, until his appointment as MCE, was the NPP Constituency secretary for Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
As part of today’s activities, the General Assembly for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality would first have to elect a Presiding Member before the confirmation exercise for Bejamin Kesse can take place.
The assembly has been without a Presiding Member for sometime now, a situation which has hampered the activities of the assembly. Mr. Emmanuel Arthur is the sole candidate vying for the position of the assembly’s Presiding Member position, and assembly members from the various electoral areas are expected to vote in that regard.
