Binduri Community Day Senior High School in the Upper East Region has been temporarily shuttered.
The shutdown is the result of the school’s inability to offer meals to students since May 29, 2023.
This disappointing circumstance has harmed academic activity, attendance, and general school functioning.
According to school officials, the student population, which was originally 600, has decreased to around 200 throughout this time period.
Students boycotted lessons on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in protest against the school administration and the government.
In response to the pupils’ worries, John Soka Jaggery, the Binduri District Director of Education, addressed them and encouraged them to return home.
He reassured them that the school administration will organise a meeting with the caterer to discuss the matter and work towards reopening on Monday, July 17, 2023.
However, some final-year students remain on campus, concentrating on their mock exams.
