Following a fatal collision on Thursday at Gomoa Anteadze on the Winneba-Mankesim highway, seven passengers are said to have died and eight others are in critical condition.
According to information gathered by OilCity Radio, the driver of a Sprinter minibus with the license plate GW 7920-22 lost control of the vehicle after a bar under it broke.
Before striking a tree, the car made several somersaults and veered off the road.
Nearly half of the passengers on board died instantly as a result of the impact.
It’s thought that when the incident happened, the driver was vying with another motorist for passengers on the highway when the incident occurred.
