The Coastal Development Authority, an agency under the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives, has donated 40,000 nose masks to the Western Regional Coordinating Council to help in the fight against the novel corona virus.
The nose masks are expected to be distributed to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District assemblies (MMDAs) in the Western Region.
The items were presented on behalf of the authority by its deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Mona Getrude Effah.
Presenting the items to the Western Regional Coordinating Council, she entreated all persons in the country especially those in the region to wear their nose mask regularly and also observe all other precautionary measures so as to prevent the further spread of the disease in the region.
“The disease is really very serious to the extent that we have all been asked to wear a nose mask, considering how difficult it is breathing when putting it on. It clearly tells us how dangerous the disease is, and we must all adhere to the safety protocols in order to help the President’s efforts at fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in our country”.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Western Regional Coordinating Council, Eugenia Gifty Kusi, who is the deputy Western Regional Minister thanked the Coastal Development Authority for the kind gesture, and promised that the items would be put to good use in the fight against COVID-19.
