Alfred Kwabena Asiedu, the ousted Jasikan Circuit Court judge for suspected misbehaviour, has launched a complaint against the Judicial Service following his removal by the Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
He earlier referred to the claims against him as a fiction of the petitioner’s delusory mind.
He is asking the court to rule that his dismissal from office was ‘unlawful.’
His requests include the following: “A declaration that the removal of the Applicant from office as a Circuit Court judge as contained in the letter signed by the 2nd Respondent dated I3th November 2023 is unlawful.”
“A declaration that both the Disciplinary Committee and the Judicial Council acted ultra vires when they made a finding of malicious prosecution against the Applicant and a declaration that the said findings of the two bodies are patent error of law on the face of the record and same liable to be quashed by the supervisory powers of this Court.”
On January 16, Singari Diana Sadia filed a petition with the Chief Justice, charging the judge with abuse of power, sexual exploitation, malicious prosecution, and impropriety.
The petition was subsequently forwarded to the Judiciary Service’s disciplinary committee, which investigated and recommended that the judge be fired for his inappropriate actions.
As a result, the Chief Justice asked the judge to turn over all official property in his possession, including his official vehicle, dockets, and record books, to the Judicial Secretary in a letter.
