A new nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise will take place from Monday, June 29, to Friday, July 2, 2023, according to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
The country’s largest power distributor will spend the next week focusing on collecting debts from all types of customers, including State-Owned Enterprises.
In a press release, the company said that the exercise would be overseen by special teams that had the authority to detain and prosecute disobedient clients.
The first phase of the exercise was started by the company in March of this year, when all of its administrative offices were temporarily closed so that its staff could be used as field collectors for a month.
However, it has declared that it will keep a small staff in order to continue offering crucial services to clients throughout this most recent exercise.
