The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan Constituency, Joe Ghartey has supported the Fathers’ Home Care with some sanitary items and food supplies. this gesture was to help parents and children at the center to fight the novel corona virus. The items donated included two veronica buckets and packets of sanitary items, 150 pieces of reusable face mask, bags of rice, cooking oil, among others.
Hon. Joe Ghartey justified that its about time the ‘well-to-do’ commit resources to support the less privileged. He admonished the public to do away with partisan-politics in discourse related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Let us try and wear our mask. Lets us work together. This is a time, as a nation, we must stay together. This is a time that we must shun partisanship. It is not important. What is more important is for us to stay alive” he said.
Founder of Fathers’ Home Care, Francis Jackson was very grateful for the gesture. He said that it was very responsive on the part of the legislator to make such intervention. He reiterated that precautions have been taken to minimize contacts with the children, and as well observe strictly the preventive measures suggested by the Ghana Health Service, so they can curb an invasion of the virus at the center.
