Residents of the Tarkwa within the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality have expressed their fears as covid-19 infections in the area keeps increasing.
The Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality is one of the two epicenters for COVID-19 infections in the Western region, as the region has so far recorded a total of 405 cases. Out of this number, the Tarkwa- Nsuaem has recorded 158 cases.
One of the residents, Mark Arthur said ” we have seen that aside the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality has been the second area with COVID-19 infections in the Western region. We as residents constantly are living in fear, as the cases are not reducing. We are therefore calling on the health authorities to look close at Tarkwa, and institute measures to curtail the further spread of the deadly COVID-19″.
The residents are therefore calling on health authorities to intensify efforts at dealing with the virus, so as to ensure that many more people do not get infected.
