The Western Region Deputy Health Director in charge of clinical care, Dr. Atsu Dodor has stated that the case count for the region stands at 38 from a previous figure of 33.
This is attributed to the second batch of results released by the testing centre in the region. The five new cases are shared between the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis (4) and Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality (1).
In an interview with Samuel Kojo Brace on the Jolly Breakfast Show on Skyy Power FM today, Dr. Dodor indicated to the host a worrying situation where people are stigmatizing others due to their covid-19 status, warning that this could lead to persons not reporting, and that could lead further spread of the disease in the region.
He revealed that first person to have contracted COVID-19 in the region had fully recovered.
” The region has one recovery. The results for the second sample from the chinese in Anto has come, and it’s negative. This means he has recovered from the virus. you know that when you test for two consecutive times after contracting the disease, then you have recovered,” he stated.
