The Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has on Thursday, June 23, 2022, said that the hospital’s Endoscopy Unit will be relocated to a ‘more conducive environment’ due to the heavy downpours.
In a press statement released, the Endoscopy Unit experienced flooding following recent heavy downpours.
“The second phase of construction of a new Psychiatry Department aimed at improving mental health services involved partial demolition of old structures. This inadvertently resulted in debris, obstructing drainage, and run-off from around the Endoscopy building, which is immediately adjacent to the construction site. This became evident after then heavy rains,” the statement said.
“Prior to this incident, a decision had already been taken to relocate the Endoscopy Unit to a more conducive environment,” added.
The management, therefore, has apologised to the general public for the inconvenience caused.
