In the run up to the 2016 general elections, then candidate of the New Patriotic Party now President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo promised to construct a sea defence wall for the people of Axim if elected.
Upon the resumption of power as the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo redeemed his pledge to the good people of Axim, by cutting the sod for construction works to begin on the sea defence wall on the 9th of September, 2018.
The sea defence wall project was to be executed by Makam Plant Hire Ltd, and was expected to be completed within a 24 months period.
Checks by the Kwesimintsim Observer reveals that the Axim sea defence wall started by the government over two years ago has been completed.
