Police Inspector Nana Akua Boatemaa, representing Police Inspector Wisdom Alorwu, informed the Court that the complainant, Mdaihli Fadlelah, of Regimanuel Estate, Spintex Road, was a businessman, and the accused person lived in the complainant’s house.
According to the prosecution, on 14 March 2023, the complainant gave the accused person an amount of US$16, 000.00 to be given to one Ali on the Spintex road, but the accused person allegedly absconded with the money while riding the complainant’s Apsonic motorbike worth GHC8,000.00 to an unknown destination.
During the inquiry, the police learned that the accused left the motorbike with a friend in Koforidua, who was a witness in the case, and flew to Nigeria in search of greener pastures.
The prosecution, on September 27, 2023, said Richmond Annin, the accused person’s acquaintance in Koforidua, was detained, and it was via him that the accused person travelled from Nigeria to Ghana and was apprehended on September 30, 2023.
