The betPawa Ghana Premier League failed to make the top 80 men’s national football leagues in the world.
According to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) ranking, the Ghanaian top flight misses out on a place in its rankings.
The IFFHS recently published its list of the world’s best football leagues from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.
During the period under consideration, Ghanaian clubs failed to make deep runs in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
Ten leagues representing ten African countries made the list, with Egypt leading the way, with its league ranking 13th in the world.
According to the IFFHS, Egypt’s League was ranked 14th in the world the previous year.
Algeria’s league is ranked 20th in the world, Morocco’s top light is ranked 24th, and Sudan’s league is ranked 33rd.
Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku stated a player’s monthly wage in the Algerian league can take care of a player’s expenses for an entire season in the Ghanaian league.
The Nigerian League and the Zambian League are ranked 77th and 79th, respectively.
