Dr. Isaac Dasmani, the President’s nominee as MCE for Prestea Huni Valley Municipality, yesterday was confirmed by assembly members of the area.
Before his appointment, Dr. Isaac Dasmani was a lecturer at the department of economics at the University of Cape Coast.
Speaking shortly after his confirmation, he thanked the assembly members for reposing confidence in his leadership and promise to champion the development of the area through consensus leadership.
” I would like to thank you for confirming me as the MCE and I promise to help improve the development agenda of the assembly. I am rejoining the assembly and my working philosophy would be based on consensus leadership. All I ask from the honourable members is unity of purpose so we can work together to improve the fortunes of the Municipality.
Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, who is the Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni Valley and also doubles as the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, pledged her support to the new MCE and the assembly in general to help in accelerating the development of the area.
” I am the MP for area and the MCE is the President’s representative here in the area, and he would be responsible for executing and supervising all government projects (Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, One-District-One Factory etc) under his jurisdiction. Even though I am stationed in Accra, I would always be there to provide support to the assembly when called upon”.
