A first-year Junior High School (JHS) student at Koforidua Sarkodea Basic A school was allegedly attacked by his guardians for stealing GH50.
To end his torture, the child, Samuel Agyei Tawiah, is reported to have forcefully admitted to stealing the money.
The student, who lost his mother when he was born, has been living with his auntie and her husband, who is accused of mistreating him.
According to OilCity Radio sources, the guardians who suspected the youngster of stealing the money hit him severely with an iron rod, inflicting significant injuries around his left eye.
The boy, sensing danger, then admitted to the crime, claiming that the money was delivered to a fellow student, forcing the guardians to match him to the school. However, when they arrived at the school, they were unable to identify the pupil to whom he reportedly gave the money.
The guardians who were enraged by the move leapt on him and beat him again in front of teachers and students at the school.
The teachers who were allegedly threatened by the guardians when they tried intervening then called in the police who came to escort the student and his guardians to the police station.
