The Member of Parliament for the Kwesimintsim Constituency, Honourable Joe Mensah made only seven contributions to all parliamentary proceedings and debates for the year 2019.
This was contained in a research report released by the Political desk of Ghana Report evaluating the contributions of one hundred and twenty three first-term legislators on the plenary of Parliament for that year.
Honourable Joseph Mensah placed on the rankings at the 57th position with only 7 contributions suggesting that he has woefully failed in terms of his representational function as a Member of Parliament for the people of Kwesimintsim Constituency.
Such a mark largely accounts for the incessant complaints expressed by the constituents of Kwesimintsim that Honourable Joseph Mensah has failed to be their lead advocate for development, and the constituency has not witnessed any development since he became the Member of Parliament for the area.
Honourable Joseph Mensah described himself as the “Game Changer” during the elections of 2016 and promised the people to be a better representative for their aspirations in Parliament. But per the research report released by the Ghana Report, the claims made by him in the past suggest the contrary as he has showed to be ineffective regarding his duties in Parliament.
This research report may come as a surprise to many, as the constituency in the recent past was well represented in Parliament, the New Patriotic Party, and was one of the most visible constituencies from the Western Region. The Kwesimintsim Constituency, a former cabinet seat, has become a pale shadow of itself on the corridors of Parliament and the national political scene.
