The Member of Parliament for the Kwesimintsim, Western region and newly appointed deputy Minister for Works and Housing Ministry, Hon. Dr. Prince Hamid Armah has been appointed as the chair of education within the manifesto committee for the Vice President and Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team.
In a press release issued yesterday, Wednesday Feburary 21, 2024, by the NPP, it stated that the committee will be chaired by Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and sector ministers will serve as advisors of the committees.
“The Committee shall be responsible for undertaking a holistic review of the party’s 2016 and 2020 manifestos and engaging all relevant stakeholders to come up with a pragmatic 2024 manifesto.”
With his wealth of experience and expertise as the former Acting Director General of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Dr. Armah is set to contribute to shaping the vision and direction of the education agenda to be outlined in the manifesto.
By ensuring effective curriculum design and assessment practices, his role as the committee chair for education will support the manifesto’s goals of improving educational standards, fostering innovation, and preparing students for future challenges.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Monday, February 19, 2024 presented his campaign team list to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for review and approval.
Dan Botwe, the immediate past Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, Justin Frimpong Kodua, NPP General Secretary, Frederick Opare-Ansah, former NPP Member of Parliament for Suhum and former parliamentary Chief Whip, Kwabena Agyepong, former General Secretary, Nana Akomea, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Anthony Karbo, and Krobea Asante are among the key figures named in the campaign team.
