LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer after scoring 38 points to break Kareem Abdul-record Jabbar’s of 38, 387 points. James holds the record with 38,390 points.

In the Lakers’ 130-133 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Crypto Arena, James broke Abdul-record; Jabbar’s game was stopped to honour James for reaching the historic mark.
Abdul-Jabbar was in attendance and presented James with a basketball to commemorate the occasion; the former Milwaukee Bucks star Abdul-Jabbar broke Wilt Chamberlain’s scoring record in 1984.

Nike gave LeBron a special sneaker with a “gold and marble” theme in response to James’ historic feat.
LeBron’s fadeaway jump shot vaulted the former Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers star past Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring list.

Abdul-Jabbar presented LeBron with a basketball to symbolize the passing of the torch.
The 38-year-old four-time NBA champion was drafted first overall in the 2003 NBA Draft out of high school and signed a lifetime contract with Nike in 2015.
