President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called for unity among the ranks of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the election of new national executives to steer the party’s affairs.
This, according to Akufo-Addo, is critical in ensuring that the party’s mantra of “breaking the 8” becomes a reality in the 2024 elections.
In a Facebook post on July 17, he congratulated the newly elected executives at the party’s annual national delegates’ conference, which had just concluded at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Akufo-Addo described the successful election of new executives as a demonstration of the NPP’s commitment to the tenets of multi-party democracy.
“I congratulate warmly the new National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Stephen Ayesu Ntim, and the other National Officers who were elected at the Party’s National Delegates’ Conference,” the Facebook post read.
“We have elected a team of Officers with a deep attachment to the timeless values and principles of the Party and its tradition, and who will steer affairs of the party for the next four years. They are the national face and voice of our Party, and they will set the tone and the pace of our election campaign in 2024,” it read.
The President urged all NPP members to rally behind the new national officers for the party to “Break the Eight” and help bring progress and prosperity to the Ghanaian people.
…the newly sworn in Executive officers must as a matter of urgency advice HE the President to reshuffle his ministers and cut down Presidential staffers to a considerable size. 2024 is just here
