The Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Mr Haruna Iddrisu has described the letter from the Presidency as a letter of no value and must be ignored since it does not bear the signature of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He explained that, the letter which seeks to restrict the clerk of Parliament from sending the Human Sexual rights and family values Bill to President Akufo-Addo to assent, was signed by the secretary to the President Asante Bediatuo Nana and not the President himself.
Mr Haruna Iddrisu further indicated that, any letter from the Presidency seeking Parliament to do something must be signed by the President and address to the Speaker of Parliament but not the clerk.
Finally, the former minority leader noted that, Parliament has just passed a Bill which has not yet become a law until it has been assented by the President , therefore there is nothing like a law which is being contested at the supreme Court .
He therefore argued that the intention of President Akufo-Addo which the said letter is trying to portray as basis for not assenting to the Bill has no legal basis.
