National Democratic Party (NDC) Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama has established an award scheme that will recognise party branches and constituencies that work hard to boost the party’s legislative and presidential votes in 2024.
Mr. Mahama, who has insisted during his tour of various constituencies that his 2024 campaign will be anchored by the branches, said the reward plan is intended to set targets for the constituencies as well as encourage them to meet those aims.
“We are going to institute a reward system for constituencies and branches. We’ll give every constituency a target and if you meet the target and exceed it, the branch and constituency will be rewarded”, he announced to wild cheers from the executives.
Mahama is currently on a three-day tour of the central region’s twenty-three seats, campaigning ahead of the NDC’s presidential primaries on May 13, 2023.
According to him, the award scheme and branch-level campaign will be aided by campaign materials and logistics. He also warned constituency and regional executives against hoarding campaign logistics and other resources, denying branches where the main work of canvassing for votes takes place.
President Mahama has stated that he will decentralise his 2024 campaign even more than he did in 2020, collaborating with branches and constituencies to engage, mobilise, and canvass for votes.
The former president has already visited six regions, including Volta, Bono East, Bono, Ahafo, Ashanti, and Western.
