Disputed entertainment figure Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog, was fined GH48,000 for making threats against President Akufo-Addo regarding the Menzgold Saga.
Bulldog was hauled into court in 2021 after saying on UTV that President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo would not complete his four-year term if Menzgold customers were not paid.
The popular artiste manager was charged with disturbing the peace.
Bulldog pleaded not guilty to the charge throughout the two-year trial, adamant that he had never intended to threaten the president. He asserted that his request to the President was made solely in the interest of Menzgold’s customers.
However, given the gravity of the statement, the presiding judge, Justice Evelyn Asamoah, noted in her ruling that it was not an appeal.
The manager of the artist is required to pay a fine of GHC48,000 or risk serving 40 days in jail.
