Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), believes that his companies have been targeted as a result of his choice to run for president.
In his bid to head the NPP in the 2024 elections, he argues that state institutions are irritating and frightening him.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Sompa FM, Kennedy Agyapong stated that he will do all in his ability to ensure that the correct things are done.
“Let me state it clearly, they cannot use the system to intimidate me. It won’t work. It is so sad for me to make this statement. I operated businesses during all the regimes in the Fourth Republic, but I never went through any of this harassment and intimidation unlike under this Akufo-Addo government that I have been MP for six consecutive terms.”
In 2022, Mr. Agyapong declared his presidential ambitions on the NPP ticket, claiming that he is the greatest option as the party’s presidential candidate in the next general elections.
He stated that he will use his philanthropy, honesty, love for people, and, most importantly, his desire to build the country.
Any attempt by the NPP to run Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia or former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen, according to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, will spell disaster for the party.
He contended that the NPP requires someone like him if it is to maintain power and overcome the eight-year electoral cycle curse.
With his characteristics and personal attributes, the noisy legislator believes supporters are ready to unite behind him.
