The New Patriotic Party’s National Communications Team member, Mr Ernest Yaw Kumi has said that the opposition party, National Democratic Congress has nothing good to offer the country rather than to await the presidential seat.
Speaking on ADOM TV’s Badwan Mpensenpensemu morning show, he mentioned that the NDC is not innovative and has no ideas to provide panacea for all the challenges the country is currently facing.
“The NDC is of the view that by default after every four or eight years Ghanaians vote in the opposition party, they have not made up their minds to be innovative or bring up ideas as any responsible opposition party in waiting will do. All they want is for Ghanaians to be disappointed in the NPP party and vote them in,” he emphasized.
This he said to refute the claims of Mr Kweku Boahen, Deputy National Communications Officer for the NDC who mentioned that the NPP has caused the country to be in financial hardship despite the passage of the Electronic Levy Transaction, which was said to be the solution for all economic challenges in the country.
Mr Boahene mentioned that the Covid – 19 funds were profitable and enough to rescue the country out of its economic crises but have been embezzled by government officials.
According to him, the Covid-19 funds were properly used by the government. As a result, Ghana was rated by the British High Commissioner, H.E Harriet Thompson as one of the best destinations for foreign investment returns.
Mr Kumi argued that the economic hardship the country is currently facing is not discrete to Ghana but rather, a global challenge.
“As I speak, President of Senegal, His Excellency Macky Sall is going to Russia afterwards he will go to Ukraine to have a conversation with President Zelensky to find a way to end the Russia-Ukraine war, because his nation is going through a serious financial hardship, to the extent that the price of bread is outrageously high,” he said.
“The Prime Minister of Barbados recently told her people that due to the global challenges the whole world is being affected economically. Yesterday, Cote D’Ivoire had increased fuel by over 200%,” he lamented.
The National Communications Team member for the NPP, Mr Ernest Yaw Kumi explained that it is time the NDC acknowledged the Akuffo-Addo government as one of the best in the history of Ghana.
