Omanhene-elect Nana Kwaku Boateng III has been sworn in, on Monday, 27 June 2022 as the new Omanhene for the New Juaben Traditional Area by Chiefs, traditional leaders, and kingmakers of New and Old Juaben Traditional Areas in the Eastern and Ashanti Regions.
Nana Kwaku Boateng III succeeds the late Professor Emeritus Dasebere Oti Boateng, who was laid to rest last month, May 2022.
Gyasehene Nana Twumasi Dankwa welcomed Nana Kwaku Boateng III in the presence of all divisional and subdivision Chiefs, Muslim leaders, Clergy, Political and Institutional heads.
For the first time in 29 years, the black stool, which represents the power and authority of the people of New Juaben, was brought out from the stool room. Nana Kwaku Boateng III was made to swear to the stool and commit to serving with diligence and truth.
Nana Kwaku Boateng III pledged to the chiefs and people of Juaben at the forecourt of the Yiadom Hwedie Palace in Koforidua that he will use his vast experience and expertise to develop New Juaben.
“I pledge to ensure unity, peace, and togetherness in New Juaben and to an extent to Old Juaben, I will use my strength, your help, and expertise to help ensure growth, progress, and development in New Juaben. Based on the goodwill, service to mankind, and humanity that my forefathers used to rule the good people of Juaben, I pledge to continue the same and never turn my back on my people,” he said.
For a successful reign, the Chairman of the Council of State and Omanhene of Asante Juaben Dasebere Otuo Serebour advised the newly en-stooled chief, Nana Kwaku Boateng III to unite his subjects and remain truthful to the people.
Both divisional and sub-chiefs who lined up to swear an oath of allegiance to the new Omanhene pledged to submit and collaborate to advance his developmental agenda.
Omahene, Nana Kwaku Boateng III will sit in state on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, to receive well-wishers and loved ones.
