Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, one of the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer candidates, has been instructed to finish his paperwork and re-submit them to the party’s elections committee.
This occurred when he went to the party headquarters on Monday, June 19, 2023, to submit his nomination form.
However, the elections commission discovered that the forms were not completely filled out.
The party has not yet made the additions and revisions to the forms known to the media, but OilCity Radio sources at the headquarters say the committee is ready to see him whenever he returns with the completed documents.
Members of the team, however, have discovered that crucial papers, such as his CV and personal donations to the party, were not included in the nomination document filed.
Meanwhile, another New Patriotic Party flagbearer candidate, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, has stated that he is unconcerned by the enormous crowds that have attended the filing of nomination papers by other aspirants.
Dr. Akoto told the press after completing his papers at the party headquarters on June 19 that he chose to file his forms only with core members of his campaign team rather than busing in supporters.
Dr. Akoto thanked his delegates and constituency chairmen for coming to the party headquarters to support him.
He urged his followers to be committed to the cause of electing him as the NPP’s flagbearer.
“Let me state here that everyone who has come here, including farmer representatives, has come on their own accord.” There is no bused throng or large commercial truck coming people to show their support.
“People have come on their own volition and conviction that my candidature will be beneficial to Ghanaians and the NPP, and I am grateful.”
Nomination forms for the NPP flagbearership election are still being accepted. The filing deadline is June 24
