OccupyJulorbiHouse: All protestors arrested during demo released

All protestors detained by police on Thursday, September 21 during their disruptive demonstration towards the Jubilee House have been freed.

Police apprehended the 49 protestors at the 37 bus station, where they had gathered for the scheduled demonstration on Thursday morning.

According to the police, an application to prevent the demonstration was made and sent to Atuguba & Associates, the legal team representing the Democracy Hub organisers, as early as Tuesday, September 19.

The organisers, however, claimed ignorance about the application and elected to ahead with their march.

One of the organisers, Oliver Barker Vormawor, confirmed to the media that virtually all of the protestors arrested on Thursday had been freed.

He did, however, disclose that the organisation has yet to identify one of its members who is still missing. He claims that they are unable to contact him since the Police have confiscated all of their phones.

Meanwhile, some members of the organisation, as well as celebrities such as Efia Odo and EL, are congregating near the 37 Lorry station to continue the protest.

Despite the detention of some members and claimed police intimidation, the group has pledged to continue its demonstration.

Addressing the media after the first day of the demonstration, the group vehemently criticised the conduct of the police and vowed to continue the protest.
