Parliament will reconvene on June 6, 2023, following a break that began on March 31.
The House will begin business at 10:00am, according to a statement from the Speaker of the House, Alban Sumana Bagbin, recalling the MPs for the Second Meeting of the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament.
In March 2023, after passing the contentious three revenue bills that the government had presented to the house in an effort to increase domestic revenue mobilisation, Parliament adjourned sine die for the Easter celebrations.

In his closing remarks, Alban Bagbin, Speaker of the House, urged the MPs to avoid making decisions that might undermine the proceedings of the house at the following session.
“We have really endear ourselves, especially the leaders, my deputies to try and build more consensus. However, we have made some rather unexpected U-turns at times. And I find that to be sad at times. I’m hoping this is not the experience we have at our subsequent meeting. You all demonstrated on Friday that you were ready to put in a lot of effort. Some of the ministers are as well,”
Mr. Bagbin said.
