The Central Region Chairman for the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Mr. Kwesi Ansah, has bemoaned the recalcitrant attitude of some commercial drivers in the region towards the wearing of nose mask.
He expressed his misgivings about how that could contribute to the further spread of the novel corona virus in the region.
Mr. Kwesi Ansah has admonished passengers not to board vehicles where drivers fail to comply with the nose mask directive, and endeavour to report such drivers for the necessary actions to taken against them.
In an interview with Skyy Power FM, he stressed that “we have taken notice of some commercial drivers in the region especially those in the rural areas failing to adhere to the nose mask directive as outlined by the health authorities. We entreat passengers not to board vehicles where drivers fail to wear the nose mask, and we encourage them to report such drivers for us to take actions against them”.
Meanwhile, the Central Region’s COVID-19 case count stands now at 287.
