The High Court in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, has so far cross-examined four witnesses in the case involving the Juaben NPP constituency chairman, Alexander Sarfo-Kantanka, and the state.
This is according to the office of the Special Prosecutor.
Alexander Sarfo-Kantanka is charged with 26 counts of corruption for allegedly bribing assembly members in the region in order to secure permission as Municipal Chief Executive for Juaben.
Yet, he was rejected by the assembly members.
Following the Prosecution’s cross-examination, the court rescheduled the case for March 21 and April 20 of this year to hear the evidence of two additional prosecution witnesses.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office launched an inquiry into bribery charges levelled against Alexander Kwabena Sarfo-Kantanka after he was shown in a viral video requesting a repayment of cash allegedly given to assembly members to assist his acceptance after being refused for the second time.
