The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye has revealed that the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis and the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality are the epicenters for the corona virus infections in the Western Region.
The country has so far recorded 6,964 COVID-19 cases with the Western Region case count standing at 334.
In a media briefing, Dr. Aboagye revealed that majority of the new COVID-19 cases were recorded from the Western Region.
“The new hotspot is in the Western Region, which recorded about fifty-seven (57) new cases” he said.
He added that the surge in the cases are mainly in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis and Tarkwa. Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye assured that “a team will be going there to see how we could quickly assist the region to bring the disease under control, the same way we did at Obuasi”
