Two people are reported to have been lynched over witchcraft suspicions in Zakpalsi, an agricultural village in the Mion District of the Northern Region.
According to OilCity Radio source, one of the lynched individuals offered a tainted snuff to a homeowner, who afterward complained of stomach pains.
She eventually died of stomach problems after consulting a soothsayer, who blamed her death on the snuff she was given.
The soothsayer’s report infuriated the youth of Zakpalsi, prompting them to come together and assault the supposed witch, Imoro Safura, and her husband.
The enraged teenager attacked and killed the husband at the couple’s house, but the woman managed to flee to the chief palace for protection.
The teenager, on the other hand, attacked the chief’s palace, kidnapped her, and murdered her.
