At the National Delegates Congress, which will be held on December 17, 2022, some National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in the Trobu Constituency have urged delegates to support Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the outgoing secretary who is now running for chairman.
In a press release, they stated that Mr. Nketia, who served as the party’s General Secretary, has political experience and can lead the party to victory in 2024.
“We have the firm belief that he is the one to lead us as Chairman into the 2024 general elections.
“We are therefore making an appeal to the delegates across the country, and more especially of Trobu Constituency, who is going to exercise the sanctity of their votes on our behalf, to vote massively for General Asiedu Nketia for the Chairmanship position without fear,” parts of the statement read.
General Mosquito, as he is affectionately called, will be contesting with bigwigs like Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and Nii Armah Ashitey.
Additionally, the supporters also asked the delegates to vote firmly for national officers.
On Saturday, July 17, NDC delegates will vote on who they want to lead the party ahead of the 2024 general election.
