The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that it will closely watch the ongoing limited voter registration process despite the party’s complaint against the Electoral Commission.
The NDC on Tuesday, September 12, accused the Electoral Commission of making voter registration difficult in its strongholds.
The ongoing limited voter registration aims to register more than 1.3 million people who have turned 18 since the last registration period in 2020.
The 21-day exercise began on September 12 and ends on October 2.
In a press conference, NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah stated that members of the party will monitor the exercise to ensure that the process is not manipulated by the EC.
“We are ready, very ready, but we are concerned about the poor registrants who must cover the costs and constraints of voting.” We presently have agents and officials in each of the Electoral Commission’s 268 district offices around the country, and we are closely and actively monitoring the process.
“We will ensure that the EC and NPP’s attempts to rig the process are defeated and soundly defeated.”
