Justice Amoh, CEO of the Justmoh Group of Companies, led a team to contribute approximately GHC5000 in items and cash to two special needs schools in the Western Region.
The September-Born Project Group, made up of people born in September, donated to help the less fortunate in society.
Cressential Efua Billson-Sai, the headmistress of Twin City Exceptional School, used the occasion to call for more similar assistance for children with special needs.
Billson-Sai stated that while the government is trying its best to help special schools, the scale of their issues cannot be managed entirely by the government, necessitating the involvement of individuals and business groups.
“The government is doing well with the disability fund but that alone is not enough. As I speak now, all the children share the same dormitory, which is not safe, we need another so we can separate them,” she said.
A similar grant was made to Fijai’s Catholic Vocational Special School. Toiletries, food, detergent, sanitary pads, and a cheque for more than GHC5,000 were among the goods donated to the two institutions.
Justice Amoh stated that the gesture is their way of giving back to society, and he encouraged others to do the same.
Last year, the Twin City Special School represented Ghana in Dubai after winning the special schools Olympics.
The school will host this year’s interregional competition from October 4 to 8, 2022.
This year, the top school will represent Ghana in Spain.
