Mr. Victor Agbotui, the Catechist of the Effia refuted suggestions by some faceless people that the church was forcefully ejected from its old location close to the Effia Astro turf pitch.
Catechist Agbotui explained that the decision was not induced by any organization, person or group of persons, but solely taken by the church.
He recounted that when they were given the parcel of land close to the Astro Turf, then Effiekuma Police Park a year ago by the State Housing Corporation, they were told categorically that the place is temporal, and thus cannot be developed into brick and mortar.
He explained that for years, the Church has been planning on moving to a more permanent and secure location and had even bought a piece of land years ago for that purpose.
Catechist Agbotui continued that at the height of the COVID 19 pandemic the Church took a decision to relocate as they were not worshipping.
He lauded the Member of Parliament for Effia, Honourable Joseph Cudjoe for the immense role he played and continues to play to ensure that their relocation was without any hiccup.
