The Western regional minister, Hon Kobby Okyere Darko has visited Dompim Pepesa in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality to update himself on the chieftaincy disputes in the community.
The minister visited the burnt palace to ascertain the level of destruction after receiving security briefing from the Dompim Police Command.
Addressing the people of Dompim, Hon Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah said he visited the community to ascertain first-hand information of what happened in the community.
He condemned the act that that led to dispute which resulted in the burning of the chief’s palace.
The palace was set ablaze by unknown arsonists when some police officers from the Western Regional Police Command and Tarkwa Divisional Command went to Dompim-Pepesa Palace to execute a court order that is, the writ of possession against Ohyeawora Bian Nyonwah IV, the chief of Dompim-Pepesa.
The Regional Minister called on the people to remain calm as the regional security council has taken up the matter to ensure that peace prevails in the Dompim community.
He explained that if both sides do not understand themselves as to who should be the chief for Dompim, they can go as far as the supreme court in order to get to the bottom of the matter in order to bring peace.
Hon Okyere Darko Mensah assured that the Regional Security Council is working hard to ensure that peace prevails in the Dompim Pepesa Commmunity
