Residents of Nima in Accra have given the Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly a 30-day time constraint to fix all of the community’s deplorable roads and abandoned projects.
Residents who demonstrated on Thursday, May 4, claim that the Nima community has been neglected for too long.
Residents wearing red bands and carrying placards marched through Nima’s main streets to express their outrage at the state of their roads and the community’s infrastructure challenges.
Alhaji Issah Maiga, the spokesperson for the Concerned Nima Residents, stated that the government must come to their aid immediately or face their wrath.
“We are petitioning the government through the Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly to urgently give the Nima Highway a befitting facelift, refurbish all bad roads connecting the Nima Highway, and complete the Kawu Kudi Hospital to benefit our football team.
“As a result, we are giving the authorities 30 days to do the necessary or we will continue with the demonstration,” he added.
