A family of three has been killed in a domestic fire at Abuakwa in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Abigail Manu, 28, and her two daughters, Nora Yeboah, 9, and Philipa Yeboah, 6, were involved in the tragic incident.
According to eyewitnesses, two other family members in the house were able to flee, but the three were trapped inside and burned to death.
Officers intervened to keep the fire from spreading to neighbouring houses.
The affected house has been completely destroyed.
According to eyewitness Timothy Nsiah, “we heard the victims screaming and calling for help but were only able to rescue two out of the five persons who were trapped in the fire.”
This comes just a few weeks after a police officer and his family were killed in a similar fire in the Ashanti region’s Apromase.
