The late Theresa Kufuor, wife of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, is being remembered for a week in Peduase in the Eastern Region.
The event began in the early hours of Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the former President’s private house.
The somber event is attended by several high-profile luminaries, including President Nana Akufo-Addo, Ministers of State, and Independent Candidate, Alan Kyerematen, as well as family and friends.
The former First Lady’s burial will be held in the courtyard of the State House on November 16, 2023.
The funeral ceremonies will continue in Kumasi on November 18, and she would be put to rest on November 19, 2023.
Throughout their 61-year marriage, former President Kufuor’s wife, Theresa Aba Kufuor, was a loving companion.
She was a retired nurse and midwife from Odumase, Bono Region.
Theresa Aba Kufuor, 87, was born on October 25, 1935, and died on October 1, 2023.
She spent the most of her professional life in the United Kingdom after completing her studies at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford and Paddington General Hospital in London.
She obtained certification as a state-certified midwife and a certificate in preterm nursing.
She was her parents’ last child.
