Dr. Prince H. Armah, the Executive Secretary for the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment(NaCCA); who also doubles as the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Kwesimintsim has wished all BECE Candidates success as they start their examinations today.
Dr. Armah said that despite the raging Covid-19 pandemic, he is confident that the preparation given to the candidates would help them excel in the examinations. And this makes the class of 2020 a unique one, as sitting the examinations in these difficult times would build their character to face the uncertainties that life comes with in the future.
“Every year, thousands of young Ghanaians sit for the Basic Education Certificate Education. This year however, the Covid-19 global pandemic has created special circumstances that have impacted the preparation for and conduct of the examinations. This makes the class of 2020 a very special one. They have had to endure unique challenges in their preparation for the examination”
“Nevertheless, I am confident that these circumstances will only go to build their characters and prepare them for real life, which can be full of uncertainties. I am confident in the efforts of our teachers across the country, who have worked tirelessly for years but especially in the last few months to prepare them for these examinations. I wish all students sitting the examination, in particular the one thousand, nine hundred and eighty-one in Kwesimintsim the very best of luck. May success be theirs. And may the rest of us keep them in our thoughts and prayers. The future belongs to them”, he added.
Over two thousand pupils from public and private institutions in Effia-Kwesimintsim are sitting for the examinations, which ends Friday, 19th September, 2020
