Ghana goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot, on Thursday, June 23, 2022, has signed a three year with Charlton Athletic from League Two side Swindon Town.
In an interview, the 25-year-old said: “I’m delighted. It’s a club that you always want to be at; you always have the ambition to play for such a high-profile club. Walking around the stadium you can feel the magnitude of the club. I’m really happy to be here.”
“Look, I’m just ready to get to work and hopefully just hit the ground running, as the old cliche is. It’s good,” he added.
Chief Executive Officer of the club, Thomas Sandgaard has said that he is excited that the Ghanaian international has joined the club. He also added that the new signing will help boost their performance in the upcoming league season.
Wollacot was named the best goalkeeper in the division as he made Team of the Season at the end of the campaign.
He appeared in all three of Ghana’s games at the Africa Cup of Nations and was instrumental in the Black Stars’ World Cup qualification.
